Why You Shouldn't Wait Until The "Right" Time To Make A Change In Your Life

Have you ever had a dream, idea, or even a vacation you put off because it just wasn’t the right time? Have you ever thought to yourself, “I can’t afford to take a vacation” or “I know this relationship isn’t right for me, but I can’t walk away now”, or “I’m unhappy at my job, but I can’t just quit”

If you wait until the perfect time to pursue what you desire or make a big change, you may be waiting the rest of your life. Our lives are in a constant state of change. Circumstances, environments, living conditions, jobs, relationships, and so on will continuously change. Very rarely will the stars align or conditions stack up perfectly to take a chance on something you want to do. It usually doesn’t happen like this, because lets face it life is messy and the only constant in life is change.

So here’s the thing, there will never be a “right time” to take a risk and do those things your soul is pleading for you to do. We avoid doing things by using timing as a scapegoat. The truth is you are allowing fear to control your life. Your true authentic self is that voice inside you, begging you to take a risk and pursue what your heart wants. The ego self is where your fear based thoughts come from, and most of us are conditioned to choose the ego’s way of thinking. You have to break free of your fear-based thoughts if you want to make a change. You must hone into your authentic voice for clear guidance and courage.

When you face your fears and step outside your comfort zone, you allow infinite possibilities and happiness to flow into your life. The world will not benefit from you playing small. The world will only benefit from you taking that risk and lighting up those around you with all that you love.

Marianne Williamson beautifully describes this in her book, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles". “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us... Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine… And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Step outside your comfort zone, abandon the fear-based mindset, and pursue your hearts desire. There will never be a right time to quit a job, breakup, pursue a dream, travel, or tell someone how you truly feel. The time is now, because your time here is limited and there are no guarantees. The world needs more people who have come alive, are living their dreams, and shining their light.
